Together with an assigned team, we work to create a dining experience for guests to enjoy. For nine months, we planned every detail: decor budgeting, staff management for a 50 student waitstaff, table settings, entertainment contracting, and menu management.

As the Administrative Coordinator for the Madison Engineering Leadership program, I worked with the other facilitators to bring a week-long workshop to our leadership team. We asked esteemed guests from different specialties on campus to come lecture on different ways to be mentors to the first-year student groups they would be guiding through the engineering department

Wind for Schools Summit

As the event planning intern for the Center for Wind Energy at JMU, I assisted in the organization of a one-day summit for STEM educators in grade schools around the area. This summit was a platform for these teachers to discuss new curriculum regarding wind energy and other sustainable options, learn more about what they might not have known, and play with learning kits that they can check out from the Center to use in their classrooms.

Eastern Regional Finals

For an elective credit towards my degree, I took a class in the spring of 2015 that involved planning and executing the Eastern Regional Finals for the annual KidWind Challenges. We reserved the space, organized the activities for students to participate in during their down time, and gathered judges and guest speakers.
